Mar 22, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) is to join the government today forming a national government in the island, a vice president of SLFP Minister Rajitha Senaratne said.
Addressing a gathering at Kalutara, Senaratne revealed that SLFP parliamentarians are to take cabinet portfolios.
“Today is another historic day. Sri Lanka Freedom Party who is in the opposition will join the government later today. They’ll also join the cabinet. Thereby a national government will be established.” Senaratne said.
Dayasiri Jayasekara, a member of SLFP central committee told LBO that the central committee approved a proposal to form a national government few weeks back.
“We already agreed to that proposal. This morning I received the information that we are going to form a national government. But I don’t have the exact details yet.” Jayasekara said.
