The World Bank has given the greenlight to channel funds from ongoing projects of Health, North East Emergency Rehabilitation and Community Water Supply & Sanitation projects to purchase emergency supplies.
Existing loans can be diverted to buy drugs, finance water pumps, portable water and tractors for disaster hit areas, the Bank’s Country Director, Peter Harrold said in a letter to the Treasury Secretary Dr. P B Jayasundara on Wednesday.
