Sri Lankan Airlines to give cut price tickets to state workers

April 30, 2008 (LBO) – Sri Lankan Airlines is giving a 25 percent discount for state-workers and their families who go abroad, the state-run national carrier said

"This offer is valid year round for government servants, their spouses and dependent children under 21 years of age," the airline said in a statement.

Sri Lankan Airlines was managed by 43 percent shareholder Emirates Airline until March 2008.

SriLankan Holidays, which is the leisure arm of the national carrier is also offering a 25 percent discount state workers and family members on a 2 night/3 days packages to Delhi, Bombay, Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai.

"This is a unique offer from the national carrier, to support the public sector and to encourage the employees and their families to travel overseas" Fayaz Thaha, country manager for Sri Lanka said in a statement.

SriLankan Airlines flies to 41 destinations in 22 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. .
