Sri Lankan jeep team mates in Malaysian rainforest challenge

Jan 14, 2008(LBO) – A Sri Lankan team which participated in the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge and emerged first runner up, relates the story of a challenging 10-day course through the Terengganu tropical rainforest.

Driver Indika Sanjaya and co-driver Navin Marapana were 21 points behind the winners, a team from Denmark, in the 2007 Malaysian Rainforest Challenge when the game was abandoned on the seventh day, due to incessant rain.

The team says they were confident of victory, if the challenge was not abandoned.

The team was sponsored by Frontier Automotive in Sri Lanka for the 2007 challenge.

The rainforest challenge is one of the biggest internationally represented 4×4 jungle adventure event where participants come from North and South America, Asia Pacific, Africa and Europe.
