Sri Lanka’s central bank governor recruits more assistants

October 16, 2006 (LBO) – Sri Lanka's Central Bank has promoted four senior staff officers to the post of Assistant Governor from Oct. 11, the bank said Monday. Those promoted are:
• H N Thenuwara
• Uthum Herath
• Anila Dias Bandaranaike
• D S Wijesinghe

The bank is in the process of selecting candidates to fill the vacancies that have been created.

Prior to the new appointments, Wijesinghe was the Director Domestic Operations, Thenuwara was the Director Economic Research, Herath is the bank’s alternative director to the International Monetary Fund in Washington, while Bandaranaike was the director statistics. Those currently serving as Assistant to the Governor include, Rose Cooray, Dharma Dheerasinghe, Priyantha Fernando and Y M W B Weerasekera.
