Apr 20, 2015 (LBO) – Sri Lanka’s parliament on Monday adjourned following a tense situation that irrupted in the chamber with opposition parliamentarians staging a protest against a move to summon former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Disaster Management Minister, A.H.M Fowzie told LBO that the speaker has adjourned parliament till Tuesday morning.
“A group of opposition parliamentarians are staging a protest against a decision to summon former the President saying he has immunity.” Fowzie said.
Bribery Commission is to record a statement from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa over allegations leveled against him.
