Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) indices, is a benchmark used by global fund managers to track top liquid stocks in the world.

Dialog, the island's largest mobile phone operator, joins other Sri Lankan blue chip companies like John Keells Holdings, Lanka IOC, Aitken Spence and Distilleries from Dec. 1.

The addition is part of MSCI standard index quarterly review, which will include seven other global stocks:

• Alltel Corporation (USA),
• Kuehne & Nagel International (Switzerland),
• Kungsleden (Sweden),
• Central European Media Enterprises (Czech Republic),
• Cyrela Brazil Realty (Brazil),
• EDP- Energias do Brazil (Brazil) and
• Infrastructure Development Finance Company (India).
