Apollo Hospitals will broad base access to its medical faculties with at least four telemedicine centers spread across the island. Currently in its final stages of planning the project is expected to get off ground in early 2006, with 4 remote tele-center facilities.

Apollo says the move will give residents outside Colombo an opportunity to make use of the hospital’s facilities.

Apollo group’s Managing Director Preetha Reddy said marketing offices in the Middle East, Britain and in East Asia would promote the Colombo facilities in the travel market there.

The hospital is currently running at 60 percent capacity.
