Uber Eats marks first anniversary as online sales grow

Oct 18, 2019 (LBO) – Uber Eats, an on-demand food delivery app, has delivered more than 3 million orders and completed its first successful year of operations in Sri Lanka to become a dominant player in the market.

Launched in Colombo in 2018, Uber Eats is committed to make eating effortless at any time and for anyone in Sri Lanka by offering a diverse set of 34 cuisines on the app. In less than 12 months, Uber Eats has expanded to two cities across the island.

Analysing the data derived from its operations during the span of its first year, the largest order from Uber Eats stood at a value of LKR 51,000 while an Uber Eats delivery partner satiated cravings of hundreds of customers by single-handedly completing around 4,900 orders.

Additionally, Uber Eats’ hungriest customer placed over 700 orders and an average of 2 cuisines have been tasted by a single consumer.

All Uber Eats orders are delivered within an average of 30 minutes. Since its inception in October 2018, Uber Eats has grown and expanded across the country, delivering unparalleled service and customer satisfaction.

Striving in a predominantly call-based food delivery market, Uber Eats has succeeded in dominating the market and making Sri Lanka one of its fastest-growing markets.
