The laws will be incorporated into an upcoming Private Medical Institutions Act, spelling out a hospital’s rights, duties and obligations towards patient care, Health & Nutrition Minister, Nimal Siripala de Silva said.

"However, the success of all these systems, depends on consultants as well. They should be taught IT skills to input patient data," de Silva said during the launch of Sri Lanka’s first tri-lingual e-commerce site by eChannelling.
