rnIn theory, if the Executive Presidency is abolished after an Alliance victory in the April snap polls, the President would be appointed Prime Minister in the new government, giving her Excellency a further six-years in power.rn
rnHowever, the move to abolish the Executive Presidency will require an amendment to the constitution and a two thirds majority in parliament to get in through. rn
rnMeanwhile, the Alliance is due to release its 2004 election manifesto early next week, current Media and Telecommunications Minister Lakshman Kadiragamar said on Friday. rn
